How to set up takeaway and delivery

Collection

The customer orders ahead and picks it up. They are told how long it will take using your "Ready in (minutes)" time, anything from 5 to 180. At checkout they can choose as soon as possible, or pick a later time in 15 minute slots while you are open. They give their name and mobile number.

Delivery

You take it to them, within the distance you set. Before ordering, the customer types their postcode. Nabsie checks it is a UK postcode and works out roughly how far away it is, in a straight line. Too far away and they are told you only deliver within your distance. They then add their address, and the delivery charge is added to the order. The basket also tells them your minimum order.

Set it up

1. Press Order and Pay in the left hand menu, under Booking page.
2. Under "How people order", tick Collection and or Delivery. Leave Eat in ticked if you still want table orders.
3. Fill in Ready in (minutes). Be honest. It is better to say 30 and be early.
4. Under Delivery, fill in the Delivery charge (£), the Minimum order (£) and How far (miles). These are only used when Delivery is ticked.
5. Under Look and extras, leave "Text collection and delivery customers when their order is ready" ticked, so they know when to come or expect you.
6. Press Save. Share your order link on your website, Facebook and Google profile.

On your screens, collection and delivery orders carry a label. Delivery cards show the address and phone number. When you press Ready, the customer gets a text saying their order is ready to collect or is on its way. Those texts use your text allowance. If you have run out, none is sent. You still press Done when it has gone.

The distance is a straight line, so a road route may be longer. Set your miles with that in mind.

Watch it instead
